One celebration, two occasions
Double celebration at 2018 Christmas tree festival
It has long been a tradition and integral part of our corporate culture: The Christmas tree festival at the nass magnet GmbH company premises in Hanover. Every year, employees, families, shareholders and former colleagues, gather to celebrate the past year together. Fuelled by mulled wine and pea soup, they can then search for the most beautiful Christmas tree and continue to celebrate the season at home. However, 2018 was a little different. In addition to a successful year full of challenges, we also celebrated the 60th birthday of our managing partner, Klaus Kirchheim.
The big preparation
Weeks before the celebration, employees, families and friends were working on the event. Invitations were sent, speakers found, bands listened to, gifts organised – and all in secret. For ultimately, it was supposed to be a surprise for the guest of honour (and host). No expense was spared on the decorations, either. In addition to part of our trade fair booth, sparkling balls, garlands and lights created the right atmosphere. Anyone who went over to see the glittering disco balls was also able to discover some of our products.
What a ham!
After several successful speeches, good wishes and musical interludes, the gift giving began. The most striking piece stood covered near the stage for some time, and was the subject of much conjecture. The item in question was a high-quality ham slicer. Several employees and family members played a role in this surprise. A suitably fine cured ham was, of course, provided at the same time.
Fully taken care of — and deliciously
Anyone who had guessed a huge cake was also not disappointed. Partner Felicitas Kircheim, daughter of Klaus Kirchheim, ensured that guests were well-fed with a three-layer dream cake. In addition to the traditional pea soup with sausages, hungry bellies were filled with Bavarian meat loaf, a mushroom dish, hot waffles and hearty bread rolls.
The Nasscot — life-size mascot
One successful highlight was also the first official appearance of our mascot costume. Dressed in a Christmas cap and with a jolly demeanour, he walked through the crowds, bringing joy to guests of all ages. Not forgetting, of course, a hug for the birthday boy, Klaus Kirchheim.
